LIBBY ECKERT
Libby studied art at the University of Mary Washington. She has done graduate work at the University of Southern California and University of Virginia. She’s received numerous awards and commissions, and her paintings are in many private collections in this country and abroad.
“Paint what you know” has been Libby Eckert’s creative rule.
Libby, a native Virginian from the Shenandoah Valley, has had a life-long love of painting. Her paintings reflect an infallible eye for the details of the Virginia countryside. A Frequent visitor and part time resident of the Outer Banks, she also captures the many moods of the sea and sky in paintings.
Her highly original style makes her art very distinctive. Paintings of the rural countryside, Victorian houses or breathtaking seascapes are brought into sharp focus with attention to detail & color. They provide tranquil scenes that create an awareness of the natural beauty that surrounds us. Her painting technique and use of the palette makes her work easily recognizable.
She is member of the Vienna Art Society, McLean Art Club and Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Engravers Society of Washington, D.C. In addition to displaying in the local area, as well as Underground Gallery at Chrystal City, Seaside Gallery in Nags Head NC, Sandy Bay Gallery in Frisco, NC & Seaworthy Gallery in Hatteras, NC
